Hey Y’all,
Hello September ’26!
I know it’s been a little while since I’ve posted here! So much has happened over the past year. Some good and some not so good, but through it all God has been faithful!
I would like to celebrate my most recent endeavor! I decided to put my author cap back on and wrote two new books! The first is a super sweet coloring book I was inspired to create from my summer classes called Hooked on Crochet with Mrs. Deveter, where I taught young adults how to crochet! I had such a blast.

I really want more young people to learn the craft, and I decided that a great way to introduce little ones was through a coloring book. It’s filled with cool images to color and some inspirational affirmations! It is available now on Amazon!
For those who have followed me since the launch of this blog, you know that I am the proud mother of three amazing young people. Well, the twins are officially off at college, leaving me to figure out what life looks like now!
As they were preparing to head off and begin this next chapter of their lives, I realized something: I didn’t have any tools in my arsenal to help me navigate this transition.
I knew how to prepare them for college. I knew how to shop for dorm rooms, make lists, pack bags, give advice, and try to squeeze in all the last-minute mom things.
But how was I supposed to prepare myself for what came after they left?
So, I decided to create something that would help not just me, but other moms who are also trying to figure out what to do when the house gets quiet.
And that’s how When the House Gets Quiet was born.
When the House Gets Quiet is a guided journal available in two versions. I initially planned to write only a faith-based edition. Then, thanks to a conversation with a friend, I was reminded that not every woman shares my beliefs—but so many of us will experience this transition.
I wanted every mom to have a place to work through the emotions, questions, changes, and possibilities that come with this new season. So, I created a second version that I like to call the personal growth edition.
Faith-Based Edition
When the House Gets Quiet: Finding Purpose, Peace, and Yourself Again After the Children Grow Up
This edition combines my personal stories with Scripture, prayer, reflection, guided journaling, and practical exercises designed to help women navigate the empty nest season while remaining rooted in faith.
It’s for the woman asking:
God, what do You have for me now?
Personal Growth Edition
When the House Gets Quiet: Rediscovering Yourself After the Children Grow Up
This edition focuses on self-discovery, emotional wellness, relationships, identity, new routines, dreams, and learning to build a fulfilling life in this next season.
It’s for the woman asking:
What do I want my life to look like now?
The heart of both books is the same:
You are still becoming.
I believe both versions can be helpful to moms who are trying to figure out what’s next. And we dig into all of it—the grief, the quiet, the changing relationships, rediscovering who you are, finding peace, dreaming again, and realizing that there is still so much life ahead of you.
Because here’s what I’m learning: our children leaving home doesn’t mean our story is over.
Their next chapter can be the beginning of ours, too.
I’m figuring this out right alongside you. The house may be quieter, but maybe that quiet gives us the space to finally hear ourselves again.
So…what do we want to do next?
I’ll be back soon to share some bits of copy from the book to get you excited!
Until next time,
MUAH!
