As a young girl, I LOVED books. I loved to read, it was my thing! My favorite author as a pre-teen was Judy Blume, my favorite book was Are You There God? It’s Me, Margret. It was a coming-of-age story that spoke to me on many levels. Back in the 1980’s, there weren’t very many books that addressed issues that were relevant to a young girl (wanting bigger boobs, dealing with puberty, and the first kiss) but this book covered it all. I loved the way she told the story and made it sound like it was written just for me. After reading this book my love for books and writing grew.
When I went to college I knew I wanted to major in something dealing with books, literature it was! I had grand plans of becoming a world-renowned author. My first job was at a publishing company. I was elated that I was in the book world. I was a children’s sales coordinator, preparing the books to ship to the sales team when would sell to book stores (yes that long ago, there was no Amazon or kindle back then it was all hardbacks and paperback books). I thought I would work my way up and become a book editor. For whatever reason, that wasn’t what I ended up doing. Life takes so many different turns and hopes and dreams change. My love for books however has never changed.
Fast forward 25 years since graduating college, I am now a published author! I’m thankful for tools like Amazon Kindle Publishing! It has never been easier to get your work to the masses! I would like to introduce you to The Boy and His Green Sweater. A story featuring a young boy who loved his sweater, it was a special article of clothing because it once belonged to his older brother. One day he found a hole in his sweater, what could he do to fix it? This coloring book features a great story with images to color. It’s perfect for any age but specifically created for children between 5-8 yrs old.
