Hey Y’all,
I don’t know about you but for me this month has FLOWN by! Typically March is the slowest month of the year! It has been a whirlwind of activity for me (still home but busy) and I’ve loved every moment of it!
Today marks a few lasts, it’s the last Wednesday of Women’s History Month and the last day of March! As we move forward to the warmer months I’m excited to talk about crochet, but specifically women in the crochet business. I recently started an amazing position at the company I work for, which allows me to use my love for writing. I’m now the Content Director at Furls Crochet and I’m elated. I love to crochet, it’s an art and a money-making business! I’ve had the pleasure of recently meeting some influential people in the crochet community and today I’m happy to introduce my audience (all 5 of y’all ) to Lorene Eppolite a wife, mother, and crochet BOSS!
WHO: Lorene Eppolite according to her many crochet profiles; is the designer behind Cre8tion Crochet. She has been designing since October 2012 and since then she has created a seat for herself at the head of the crochet business table. Not only does she design and sell her own patterns but she is the COO and Creative Director for Furls Crochet and one of the founding members and designers behind the Crochet Foundry Digital Magazine.
WHAT: Cre8tion Crochet, Crochet Foundry and Furls Crochet
WHY: Have you ever looked at a crochet item on Pinterest and said ‘wow that’s beautiful’ well I wouldn’t be surprised if it was something that Lorene created. Her design skills are above board and she makes everything look so simple! I remember when I first started to crochet I would look up easy patterns online and I would always come across her site. I never knew that my future would include day-to-day contact and direction from Lorene. Over the past few months, I’ve learned so much from her not just about crochet but about running a business, especially when you don’t have physical contact with your customers or the team you are managing. It’s a skill that she has perfected. She saw things in me that I thought were hidden. I appreciate her for that and so more. Oh and we share a birthday so she’s good!
WHEN: 24/7 go check out her website, follow her on social media and learn all that she is willing to share. Even if you aren’t into crochet the business tips she shares on selling handmade products are insightful and easy to grasp.
Well that was 4 W’s minus the H this week! I do encourage you check Lorene out. Learn something new, especially those who crochet she has beautiful patterns that look complicated but the way she teaches and writes her patterns anyone can learn.
