Hey Y’all,

Happy Hump Day! We are almost at the end of Women’s History Month. It has been a busy month full of great stories featuring women who have made undeniable impact on the world. Many of them I’m so previlaged to know personally. Today’s #WCW is Marve McClain, nee Fraizer. I’ve known Marve for almost 10 yrs. over that time she has proven to be a brilliant woman who transcends space and time! I am inspired by her tenacity, creativity and wit! Here are my 5W’s on my friend and media marvel Marve McClain.

WHO: Marve McClain, wife, mother, daughter, sister, and woman about her business. I met Marve at Moguldom Media Group, where she was the Chief Creative Officer; she was charged with developing creative, innovative, and actionable ideas across five digital platforms, which included Bossip, MadameNoire and HipHopWired. In 2017 Moguldom was acquired by iOne in 2017 where Marve became the SVP of  Content adding  HelloBeautiful, GlobalGrind, NewsOne and Cassius under her belt.  Marve is a digital media insider and mogul sitting on numerous panels lending her guidance to women in the industry. In 2020 she decided to leave iOne and is now consulting. Today I will focus on Marve, the wife and mother.

WHAT: Food & Wine Magazine

WHY: As I’ve stated I’ve known Marve for almost 10 years. I have found her to be a smart, patient and diligent woman. When I saw that she wrote an article in Food & Wine Magazine as part of their guide to plant based meat, I wasn’t surprised I was excited to see her next steps in life. Whenever she came to New York she would always visit interesting restaurants that focused on Vegan food. When I read this post I understood a little more about her process and deceit (Mom, I can’t believe you’re eating these tacos—what is this your cheat day?!” And there it was, I had that baby tricked. He truly believed he was eating “regular” tacos and my evil plan (muahaha!) had been a success.) living a plant based life.

WHEN: Now. Go make her Vegetarian Lasagna “Bolognese” with Plant-Based Meat

HOW: I doubt that I will ever lead a plant based life but I think it’s a great idea to incorporate meatless days into your week. I will get better at doing so. Reading this article and recipe have peaked my interest and although I’m allergic to tree nuts I’m sure there are some meatless alternatives that won’t kill me.

Until next time…
MUAH!
