adoption wednesday

Hello November!!!

November is one of my favorite month’s of the year!

It’s my birthday month, Thanksgiving, and a few other observances are recognized which I will focus on weekly.

Native American History Month – I’ll be on a journey with the IndianCountryTodayMediaNetwork to celebrate natives. Every Tuesday I will post about Native American’s

National Adoption Month – This is still a passion for me so I’ll feature posts about adoption every Wednesday for the month of November. This year, National Adoption Month focuses on the adoption of older youth currently in foster care—because “We Never Outgrow the Need for Family.” This theme calls attention to our nation’s population of older youth in foster care who need loving, permanent families. Youth ages 15 to 18 make up 5 percent of the foster care population – 84,778 youth.¹ Creating lifelong connections for these young people is critical in helping them prepare for successful adulthood.

National Diabetes Awareness Month – My posts will be in conjunction with the American Diabetes Association. Nearly 30 million Americans have diabetes and 86 million more have prediabetes. What’s more – 1 in 3 Americans will have diabetes by 2050 if we don’t act to reverse this terrible epidemic. This years campaign is #EatWellAmerica, I will focus on healthy plates and great ideas to eat well and live healthy lives free of diabetes.

Until next time…
