Hey Y’all,

21 years ago, the doctor placed a beautiful boy with grey eyes and curly hair in my arms. No directions or instructions were given. No roadmap or how-to book. Just a beautiful boy who stayed in the NICU for a week. A boy who is now a dependable, talented, smart, caring, and funny young man!

I have been a mother for 21 yrs! The time has flown by! We survived elementary school (common core math was awful), we made it through middle school (earth science almost took us out), and we graduated from High School on time with zero issues (Thank you, Jesus)! We have truly been blessed to have a son like Erick. As the firstborn, he definitely is the blueprint for the twins.

Here are 21 words that describe motherhood to me, and I believe that I have embodied each of them. Nurturing, Selfless, Exhausting, Powerful, Tender, Unpredictable, Patient, Fierce, Protective, Joyful, Messy, Enduring, Compassionate, Resilient, Overwhelming, Transformative, Grounding, Magical, Challenging, Unconditional, and Scary.

I have fully enjoyed mothering Erick. He is admittedly a Mama’s boy. He still hugs me multiple times a day and is consistent with his care and concern for everyone he’s in contact with. I am proud of the man he is becoming and so excited for his future.

Erick has a really cool YouTube channel where he posts videos of Thomas the Tank Engine in different scenarios. He uses voice-over to tell the stories and creates them by doing some cool video editing. Here is one that I think is pretty cool.
